Speaking

Four subjects, and they are further apart than they look.

Suicide, grief, and faith

I co-facilitate a Survivors of Suicide Loss group, admin an online group, and have written two books on grief. One of the books focuses on long grief after suicide loss, and both are applicable to other losses. I am only an expert because I have endured over a decade of infertility, multiple miscarriages, multiple other losses, then my only son died at age 21 by suicide.

Christian apologetics

My first book was not just about grief. It is a journey of faith, my plummeting belief in God and how He pulled me out of it. It was through the scientific apologetics written by Stephen Meyer, Hugh Ross, Gary Habermas, and even Bart Erhman that led me back to faith. I can talk about ontological, teleological, cosmological, and historical arguments. All of these are what led me to an unshakable faith, and I teach how Peter encourages us to know our WHY, our reason.

Teaching mathematics and computer science

I have a love for math and software engineering that spans over 40 years. I love teaching those who want to learn.

Communication on software teams

Software engineering meets the human side. Too many teams operate in silos without clear cross-team communication. I have watched analysts, developers, and management all talking at each other and missing basic ideas. Teams write tickets on another team’s work without understanding a product outside their limited view.

Booking

Travel is difficult right now. If you have an amazing opportunity, I will discuss it, but please be understanding. Online meetings are more likely.
